Sassoon - Winter hair tips

Hi Cherubs

If you've been reading my blog for a while you will know and understand my love for Sassoon Salon. (I've been having my hair cut at the Manchester salon for nearly 4 years now) So when they got in touch and asked whether my readers would want some winter hair tips, I couldn't email them back fast enough!
I've racked my brains thinking of the most common winter worries, asked the questions and the hair gods answered. (you can thank me later)

....

Less moisture in the air through the winter months means dry hair and scalp, help?

The cold weather can leave your hair feeling dry, brittle and lifeless and it is vital to "replenish and retain moisture", says Stylist, Melissa at Sassoon Salon Manchester. A weekly deep conditioning treatment such as Sassoon Professional Intense Restore is essential, especially as hair loses vitality over the years. Dry hair does not reflect shine and will feel static and dull. A super moisturising treatment will add elasticity, manageability and shine, penetrating deep into the hair's cortex and injecting a rush of moisture, whilst smoothing the cuticle.

Split ends, is there a quick fix?

Try and visit the salon every 6-8 weeks for a trim to remove any split ends. And use a leave in conditioner and heat protector such as Sassoon Professional Halo Hydrate before blow-drying and apply a serum such as Sassoon Professional Diamond Polish before using straightening irons. Both products will protect the hair from the heat as well as shielding hair from the harsh winter elements whilst giving you that all important glamorous finish.

Amend limp lifeless locks?

Use a light-weight bodifiying mousse such as Sassoon Professional Edit Body before blow-drying.This will give limp lifeless hair, a fuller looking finish that retains its shape without being overloaded with product.

Can we ditch hat hair without ditching our cosy warm hats?

Of course! Use a dry shampoo such as Sebastian Drynamic, to refresh and recharge. Spray onto the roots for an instant lift, and through the body of your hair to create texture.

The heatings on and my hair is one static mess, is there a miracle cure?

To keep your hair from drying out in the harsh winter conditions, "apply one pump of Sassoon Professional, Diamond Polish through your hair," advises Melissa. "It will soak into your locks without leaving it greasy, guaranteeing a sleek and glossy look."
